How “negative” findings might advance biomedicine

In this recently posted TEDMED video, epidemiologist and author Ben Goldacre, MD, discusses several high-profile instances in which scholarly journals have rejected “negative” findings and explains how that practice can handicap evidence-based medicine and advancements in research. The main problem, he argues, is that favoring positive outcomes can force physicians, researchers and patients to make critical decisions in an information void.
