Developing new a molecular imaging system and technique for early disease detection

In case you haven’t checked in with the TEDxStanford YouTube channel in a while, a number of the talks given at the May conference have been posted online.

One particularly interesting presentation features Stanford radiology chief Sam Gambhir, MD, PhD, explaining the exciting field of molecular imaging and how it’s being transformed by the use of molecular “spies.” The video above shows Gambhir at the conference speaking about the range of scientific disciplines that must come together in molecular imaging, the new frontiers of nanotechnology and specific applications of molecular imaging in the detection, staging, and monitoring of diseases.
