CDC offers lots of tweeting advice

This afternoon, Shots' Scott Hensley pokes a bit of (good-natured) fun at the CDC's "Social Media Guidelines and Best Practices" (link to PDF) document. Yes, the guidelines are quite long, and it's somewhat ironic to distribute new-media instructions via an old-school tool like PDF - but the document has lots of good information on how to participate and engage on Twitter. (In other words, it's great reading for the Twitter virgin.) And given that, as Hensley pointed out, one of the CDC's Twitter feeds has more than 1.2 million followers, we should assume this is an organization that knows what it's talking about!
