Image of the Week: neural stem cells

neural_stem_cells.jpg

This striking image was posted on the GE Healthcare Flickr photo stream under a Creative Commons license, apparently as part of a competition it organizes. It is of human neural stem cells. According to the caption: "Cells are stained for nuclear (Hoechst, blue), neuronal (TUJ-1, green), and astrocyte (GFAP, red) markers." The image is attributed to Corey Seehus.

Scope's image of the week is posted every Sunday.
