Correspondence on the discovery of insulin

scope_banting.jpg

Letters of Note, one of my favorite blogs of late, is showcasing two messages from the 1920s sent to Frederick Banting, MD, one of the co-discoverers of insulin. Banning, a Canadian physician-researcher, shared the Nobel Prize in Medicine for the discovery. Pictured above is the telegram announcing the prize. Hop over to the Letters of Note entry for the second letter, which is from a grateful young patient.
