A nose-dwelling leech, Tyrannobdella rex (which means "king leech"), made quite a splash on the Web this week after the journal PLoS ONE published an article about King Leech. Pictured above is a compound micrograph of the leech's eight teeth. More photos are available in the journal article, but they aren't for the faint of heart.
