This week's image is from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine's Flickr photo stream. According to CIRM, this is an image of "human embryonic stem cells differentiated into dopaminergic neurons, which are the ones that degenerate in Parkinson's disease. Working with these cells in a lab dish provides a way to study the origins and possible treatments for Parkinson's disease." The image was made by Jeannie Liu in the lab of Jan Nolta, PhD, at UC Davis.
