What are we eating?

pile of french fries.jpg

Clinical Cases and Images blog has an amazingly interesting - and scary - chart showing what the average American eats each year. Among the eye-opening stats, which were gathered from the FDA, CDC and other sources: He consumes 29 pounds of french fries, 24 pounds of ice cream and 23 pounds of pizza, as well as 2,736 pounds of sodium - 47 percent more (!) than the recommended amount. Somehow I suspect the average amount of fruits (273 pounds) and veggies (415 pounds) consumed is not nearly enough.
