A glimpse into the future of mobile-social computing

Engineers at the Stanford Mobile and Social Computing Laboratory are working on a variety of projects aimed at creating a new class of mobile and social computing technology. At the lab, computer scientists, graduate students and industry representatives are exploring the intersection of mobile communications and social networking and ways to make such technologies more open, secure and fun. In the above video, computer science graduate students Aemon Cannon and Ben Dodson demonstrate some of the applications being developed in the lab.

This Stanford Report article offers additional details about the lab's projects. Although the technologies mentioned aren't directly related to health care, students from the lab have previously been involved in developing applications to allow individuals to harness their social network to increase their physical activity.
