TED talk emphasizes the value of patient-to-patient communication

Dave deBronkart wouldn't have been alive to give this inspirational TED talk if it weren't for the Internet. After being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, deBronkart turned to other patients in the online community - a community that turned out to have lifesaving information.

"This is the year of patients rising," declares deBronkart, who now calls on patients to harness the power of online communication to improve healthcare.
