Stanford cardiologist Richard Popp receives Rambam Award

This month, Richard Popp, MD, professor emeritus of cardiovascular medicine at Stanford, was honored as a recipient of the 2012 Rambam Award at Technion University's Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, Israel.

The award honors "exceptional individuals for their prodigious contributions to science, medicine, and technology, as well as for their leadership and contributions to humanity." According to the Ramdam Health Care Campus website Popp received the award:

... in recognition of his pioneering technique of applying ultrasound technology to detect heart diseases and in acknowledgement of his special commitment to medical education and training in Israel
