The Medicine X core conference continues today on the Stanford campus and opens with a keynote speech from Esther Dyson, CEO of EDVenture Holdings and a long-time backer of IT start-ups in the United States and other markets.

Dyson's talk will be followed by a diverse selection of 20-minute presentations and dynamic panel discussions organized by core themes. Today's core themes are: new models of scientific discovery and publishing and telling stories and making sense of health information on the Internet.
The conference, which is being held at the School of Medicine's Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge, wraps up this evening with a presentation of the IDEO Design Challenge. Members of the public are welcome to attend the conference virtually through a high-quality streaming webcast. Registration for the webcast is free.
