Last week, an energetic crowd of roughly 300 gathered for the Big Data in Biomedicine Conference at Stanford to hear from more than 40 speakers about opportunities to improve the practice of medicine and human health using "big data." Another 400 watched portions of the event online, and a significant number of both attendees and viewers participated in a lively conversation about the conference proceedings on Twitter.
We've chronicled the three-day conference in tweets, photos and blog posts on the School of Medicine's Storify page. Among the content are quotes and remarks from keynote speakers Anne Wojcicki, CEO and co-founder of personal-genetics company 23andMe, and David Ewing Duncan, author of Experimental Man; and official conference photos and twitpics from attendees of panelists and presentations. Near the end you'll find a conference group photo and recap of the event written by my colleague Bruce Goldman. We hope you enjoy the coverage, and we look forward to seeing you at the next Big Data in Biomedicine conference here - scheduled for May 21-23, 2014.
