Four particularly unwelcome brain-snacking parasites

Viewing this short list of brain-eating parasites might make you want to bleach your food and bathe in boiling water, but the pictures are really cool. Among the featured organisms in the PopSci roundup is Toxoplasma gondii, which, as discussed in a Scope post on a recent Stanford study, reproduces inside cat guts, seduces rats, and infects between one-quarter and half of all humans.

The PopSci post concludes, "In comparison, a brain-eating-zombie attack doesn't seem that bad."
