Top iPhone health apps for moms

The parenting blog Babble has a list of the best iPhone apps for moms, and there's a special category for health-related ones. Number one on the list? WebMD's free app, which blogger The iPhone Mom says is "for any mother who’s ever worried about her child’s mysterious symptoms." (Um, haven't all moms done that?) Among the features: a symptom checker, first aid section, and a search tool for WebMD's online content.

While not all apps make the cut in my mind (as hectic as life with two kids can be, I don't think I'd ever need to track my period via phone), many do sound quite helpful. iHealthTrax, in particular, could come in handy for parents of multiple kids:

When one person in a family gets sick, it’s usually just a matter of time until the germs have passed through everyone. This app lets you keep track of who’s been sick, how long it’s been going on and what their symptoms are. I love this because sometimes when we’re all down and out I can’t remember who started in with what. It’s helpful to know which child I’m talking about when we all head to the pediatrician’s office.
